The features include integrating digital maps and database content drawn from multiple sources, Point of Interest (POI), Geocode and Reverse Geocode features.
Imere technology translates cell and WiFi ID to geographic locations, which makes it easy to find a user’s location on mobile without GPS devices. It provides tiled drag-gable maps for mobile devices. Further, user can switch between popular maps like those from Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft.
Imere technology offers their software platform as SDK and API. With the Imere SDK, you can develop custom applications that can give you the location edge. It is currently available for Symbian phones only.
With the Imere API, you can access additional information like geo-location, point of interest, maps, geocoding and reverse-geocoding.
The company has recently also launched Ohe, a mobile application that automatically shows location of friends’ around you. Using this app, you can chat, tag places, tweet the location and see what activities you can do around you.
Imere is backed by an experienced team and has its office in Bangalore, India. Quite recently they got funded from leading online portal, Rediff.com.
