Tata Teleservices Launches Photon TV with Apalya Technologies

Tata Teleservices has launched Photon TV powered by Apalya Technologies. Photon TV allows Tata Photon Plus subscribers to watch live television channels and record TV shows on their personal computers at home or in office.
Photon TV, a PC and laptop-based video-streaming application, allows Tata Photon Plus users to view live TV feed from various sports, news, entertainment and regional channels. You can also choose from a library of recorded TV shows, movies, music and videos, and get them on demand.
Photon TV enables streaming of live feed from popular television channels in English, Hindi and other Indian regional languages.
Photon TV service works on a subscription model. It is currently available in three options - Rs. 5 per channel per month, Rs. 29 per month for My Combo (a bouquet of 10 channels), and Rs. 75 per month for all channels. Data charges will be applicable as per the subscriber's data plan.
From a consumers perspective, the catch is that the data charges will be applicable over and above the channel pricing. The streaming of channels will use as much as 1-2 MB per minute, so your Photon+ Lite plan of 0.5 GB might last as little as 5-8 hours.
