Google Enables Search by Voice Feature For Nokia Users

02 Nov 2009

Google India has launched a new version of Google Mobile App for Nokia handset users that includes the search by voice feature for queries spoken in English.

The mobile app is Location Aware’ which can help users get the most relevant results nearby without having to mention the name of their city or locality.

The application is equipped with speech recognition technology to understand Indian accents. Its software enables users of Nokia S60 handsets to access information on the internet by voice search.

The free-to-use application also helps users to seek updates on a cricket match, locate a restaurant or pharmacy and local business listings, among other things, through search by voice.

The downloadable application automatically detects the user's location and facilitates faster access to Google search. The application also has a feature to minimize typing in case of using the mobile keypad.

Voice search speeds up the process of conducting a Google search using a Nokia mobile after downloading the application.
