Samsung Unveils I7500, First Android Handset

Samsung has unveiled the I7500, its first Android-powered mobile phone.

With the launch of I7500, Samsung has become one of the first companies among the global top three mobile phone manufacturers to unveil an Android-powered phone.

The handset will feature a 3.2-inch AMOLED full touch screen, EDGE/GPRS, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, giving users access to Google Mobile. The full suite of Google services, including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Calendar, and Google Talk.

Integrated GPS with Google Maps that will include My Location, Google Latitude, Street View, local search and detailed route description.

It has Internal memory of 8GB and support for up to 32GB via memory cards, 5-megapixel camera, Support for various multimedia codec formats. It is 11.9mm thick.

The Samsung I7500 will be available in major European countries from June, 2009.
