Google Improves Search Results Presentation

25 Mar 2009

Google announced two new refinements to its search engine, with an aim to give the users better search results for longer queries with many keywords.

The first refinement offers an expanded list of searches related to list at the bottom of search results. The second is the addition of longer search result descriptions. These new features would help guide users more effectively to the information they need.

The new addition also enables the users to target more queries and as many as 37 languages.

When you do a search on Google, each result starts with a dark blue title and is followed by a few lines of text (called 'snippet'), which together give the user an idea of what each page is about.
